Some pics of my bearded dragon.

gsir8 Jul 07, 2004 11:02 PM

This is my 9 month old bearded dragon. He is 16 inches long and weighs about 230-240 grams. Im pretty sure about that, but my scale is not to accurate. I was wondering what morph he is, and if he is male or female. How can you tell?

Here are the pics, please tell me the morph if you can tell.

BTW I used a sock to compare the size in the pic.

I would say your dragon is a female from just looking at her basic body shape. Go here to get a better idea:

I went to that site, and did what they said to see, and he seems to be a male.

Thats a much more accurate way, so you should go with that. There is a certain look to a male dragon, but it is most pronounced when he is mature. If you see two buldges with a dimple then you have a male. Looking at them from above you can only guess.

Yes, he is definately a male, I checked several times to tell if he was, and he has two bulges with the indentation in the middle. I also thought I heard that males have bigger heads too. Which he seems to have. He also grew very fast, he seems to get bigger every day!

There may be some red/gold in its family, but in my opinion I don't think enough color is expressed to consider it any type of morph other than normal, especially at that size/age. It is a nice looking dragon though.

Now that you mention it, I think the guy I bought him from says he was red/gold. If he is normal, I really like the color of normals.
