If it was a "little" piece, it will most likely pass through her digestive tract without a problem. Just be aware of her bowel movements. If she becomes constipated (doesn't go within a reasonable amount of time) you may need to consult a vet. Since she is a baby and I assume that she was eating in her enclosure, why not accustom her to eating in a feeding container outside of her cage? This will eliminate the possibility of her ingesting any more substrate. All of my boas (8', 6', and 3') have eaten in rubbermaid containers since they were babies, without a problem.

Thanks for the response althea. It was a small piece so I will keep my eye out for it's return.
I've always used indoor/outdoor carpet in my enclosures so this is all new to me, orchid bark that is. If I was to remove the baby for feeding, how long does she stay in this feeding enclosure? Overnight?
