The Gray-Band Chronicles----the 60's and 70's.

hudsonturner Jul 08, 2004 09:14 AM

I am currently writing an article concerning the early days of alterna collecting and need to hear from the following people---- the Skramm brothers, Ron Savage, Ronnie Redman, Mike Walker and anyone, who during that time frame was actively collecting the Trans-Pecos area. I have been contacted by a number of "old guys".....and hopefully will be able to recall the fun times with now deceased collectors; Joe Laszlo and John "Jack" Joy. Any help will be appreciated and credit given.........Most ,if not all of these collectors would now be in their late 50's or early 60's. Thank you, Earl Turner

Earl,

Why did you delete your email address. I tried to send something. Anyway I and most would probably like to hear some of the tales from the "Glory Years" of alterna hunting.

.I mean no 24 hour gas stations.
..Less than dependable cars.
...Nobody to hand you a map of the exact range of alterna
....Less lighting (both vehicle and hand held)
.....Far less weather accuracy (however some days I still have my doubts).

And the list goes on and on. Look forward to hearing these stories.

Steven O.
