Beardie with an Eye Infection

mad_piranha Jul 08, 2004 12:18 PM

Ok, I purchased a beardie yesterday, that's about a year old (give or take)... He's got an Eye Infection wich (the people that brought him in) said that whith medication it should clear up in a week (it had it before but it looks like it's coming back)... Is this anything to worry about? This guy is a great eater and is such a little pig! I'll have a few pictures of him, and some closeups of the eye (they are a little watery, like with a gel)... This is not my first bearded dragon btw.

You guys are always great at this forum, I know I'll get a fast reply!

I'm not sure on the circumstances but you broke a rule. Never buy a sick animal. If it was from a store, you just adding fuel to a fire. Not to mention, why would you want to take on possible very high expenses?

Okay,, so now you have it & it needs help. First off, take it to a Vet. Find out what is causing the infection. If it is something that is reoccurring, then it could even be a bigger problem. It could be bacterial of some sort which could be contagious. Get it checked out & get him or her better.

Hopefully it is in much better hands now.
Good luck.
