Hi there. I have been wondering for a while if breeding other species of crickets as staple food for my reptiles might provide a non-chirping option that can't climb glass. Specifically, I've been thinking about camel crickets (Ceuthophilus sp.), which I could capture in reasonable quantity in my area to start a breeding colony. Has anybody else looked at domestic cricket species as an option? Unfortunately, there seems to be a dearth of information online regarding the reproductive habits of the camel cricket. I also read somewhere that USDA regs might prohibit commercial breeding of other species of crickets. Although I am just hoping to breed them for my personal use, I just want to make sure that I'm not doing anything illegal. Any insight into my questions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Kris
