I'm a campus pastor/missionary at a mid-sized University in Minnnesota. At the ripe old age of 42, I have 2 children, age 15 and 9.

We raise leopard , Australian velvet geckos, crested and gargoyles. We also have 3 corn snakes and one black pine snake.

I love to fish, oh yeah, I play in a band (vocals, trumpet and guitar).

It's been very rewarding getting to know all you on the leo forum. It's a great hobby, isn't it.

By the way Robin - I'll come down and do your wedding, but I thought that down south you had to be cousins before you could get married? LOL!!!

Hello'

Gary Mason Jr.
34
Northwest Ohio.

I am a foreman at an open pit limestone mine. I am not married but have a wonderfull girlfriend. I also have two great children from a past relationship. I have presently 5 dogs, 3 brittany spaniels(one with pups coming), a feist and a Omcba original bred mountain cur. A cat. Oh and I can't forget Tator my parrolet. I enjoy competition hunting my squirrel dogs and fishing and of course my herps. Which include. My male blizz and 3 hets. 2 baby blizz and 8 baby hets,11 eggs cookin. A rainwater and Albey stock 10% carrot tail reduced spoting. A juvie albino rainwater/tremper? An albino and snow cornsnake. A female pastel red tail boa 6.5 feet and still going. A male red tail boa 3.5 feet he is 100% het for albino 50% het for snow (want to get a female to match). A tokay gecko. A veiled chameleon. A matched pair of Brazillian Rainbow Boas. That about does it for my herps. I started with a pair trio of leopard geckos 4 years ago and that started the spark. I had reptiles when younger though. Had some beutifull saltwater aqauriums but after loosing about $5000 dollars worth of corals and fish by some messed up virus I got back into herps. Thanks Kingsnake and these forums they are a great help for people who love their animals. -Geeboo

Around here, they have granite mines, and their blowing up things all the time. I was wondering if they have to do the same with limestone.

I worked summers running heavy equipment, (cats, payloaders, scrapers) during my college years. Like giant toys!!!

Yep, we blast the pit walls down with Anfo. Is pretty cool. We don't get to set it ourselves anymore because of federal laws but I still watch them blow it. I get to run all those life size tonka machines too, LOL. I mostly just run the processing plant now though.

Kristofer Shawn Goldsmith
The longest- easy to spell name for little kids ever. (Spell it out as it sounds)
Age: 17 (18 in August)
School/Location: Mepham High School, Bellmore NY, on Long Island.

I'm also attending East Meadow Highschool for Cabinetry class. Yeah, its nice... Senior year, take cabinetry class for the first 3 periods... show up and leave whenever I choose, which is sweet now that I have a car. Then off to Mepham for Social Studies, English... then go home. Works out to about 3 hours of school a day. I work as much as possible, basically a handyman/carpenter/electrician or what ever else is asked of me. Furture plans? Going to Long Island Drafting and Technology in Ammityville, Suffolk, like 10 to 20 minute drive from home. Drafting as in Architecture or designing... not military like most people think. Then I'm hopefully getting my way into an Electricians union right after school ends in Manhattan or L.I. and eventullay become self employed.

Animals have always ruled the house... I can't begin to list all the animals I've kept and bred in the past.
For now, I have this:
2 cats
2 love birds (a breeding pair eventually)
1 other bird... not canary, the other cheap one (it's my sisters)
1 female sunburst veiled chameleon
1 Super-hypo-super-tang, Golith (can be seen as #1 on Albey's best of 2000 page
2 hypo tang females, possibly gravid (4 eggs cookin from them now, only two look healthy... )
1 40% carrot tail female
2 60% carrot tail females (gravid)

I've had... probably over 1000 animals in my house in the past 10 years if you count all of the hampsters/rats/mice that I've bred, plus the pregnant w/c garter snake and the dozons of w/c frogs and newts. Now that I think of it... There have probably been well over a thousand animals in my house since I was little. But, my favorite herps are definately leos. So, I'll stick to them for a while. Insanly long post.... thanks for reading.

1 hedgehog, tamarack
1 wonderful fiance that i am rapidly corrupting into a reptile lover....he's the one that twisted my arm to get another one this past April...hehe!

shannons May 14, 2003 11:00 AM

Hey, I'm shannon - a middle school science teacher this year, who knows after June. Ideally I would like to go back into zoo/nature center outreach work and manage an animal collection. As for our own, at school I have my leos in rotation: Ceaser, our stud, Blancita , a juvie Tremper albino, Rosie, a breeding normal, and Prima, our first baby. I also have Ranger, an adult orange male BD, and Ani, a new baby female snow BD. Hannah, our Florida KIngsnake, and the mice, including the hairless ones, also inhabit the classroom. At home we have a Jackson's Cham., Rescued Male Veiled cham, and the rest of the food I breed: mealworms, superworms, and hissers. My current challenges are trying to get Rosie healthy - she is chronically ill - and getting adequate heat into Ranger's new large tank. Of course, looking for a new job is the biggest challenge!

My names Josh, I circulated the kingsnake forums frequently until a year ago when the economy took a dive and I had to work constantly (well it seems so) to make ends meet. So I'm back after a brief vacation. I am a Gekko breeder, mainly Tokays & Green Eyed (G. Smithi). I do love my leos though and tend to breed them occasionally. I am 24, married to someone who could possibly be the greatest woman on earth . I also live in IN. Looking forward and not back to getting to know all the people in here that have started visiting while I was gone.

Jess
17 years old
cold wet oregon

I first got interested in leopard geckos when I was 14 on a Spring break trip to California, we stayed with my friends aunt and she had a leopard gecko. I loved it. (new nothing about them though at the time)

I have:
1 parakeet (mine)Kittie
2 cats (one is mine one is my brothers) Baby-Kitty, and Posse
2 Russian Tortoises (my moms) Donna and Darla (donna-male, Darla- female, my mom thought that Donna was a female box turtle until she did research(neighbor kids werent feeding it so their mom gave her to my and I begged my mom and she adopted her as her own and soon bought another one once she knew more about them.
2 Leopard Geckos (male and female, mine)
3 leo eggs in the incubator
8 freshwater fish (9 guppies, 1 Beta)
and my sister is getting a guinea pig for her birthday.
My leos are my babies especially my female Cesar. I hope her calmness genes are passed to her babies.

I had a hi-yellow female leo but my brothers cat got into the cage and scratched her and she went to the vet a couple weeks later (came home with no tail) the vet was unexperienced with herps and my leo died of blood poisoning/infections.

I plan on keeping 1 or all of the babies that hatch, if they all do.

In the picture is a picture of my male leo, Diego.

i have 3 herps:
2 leopard geckos - one normal (F - "Owen" ), one patternless (too young to sex - no name)

1 ball python - 34", 500g normal (F - "Monty" )

i used to have a ball python when i was about 10, but it died when my mom was pregnant for my younger sister. so i got a new python last October. Monty is my baby. the love of her sparked my interest in leopard geckos, so i got Owen in February, and the No Name at this past NY Expo.

the geckos are amazing creatures, but my first love is my ball python. when my girl is of breeding weight, i hope to mate her with a lucky male (hopefully albino).

i haven't decided how far i want to go with my geckos, but time will tell!

this forum is the best thing any herp lover could ever participate in. i've learned more here that i thought i could ever know, and i still am learning every single day. thanks to everyone who has helped me (directly or indirectly).

also, if anyone is looking for a new website (or re-design), feel free to contact me with any questions.

My name is Michael and am a leo addict!! Admiting you have a problem is the first step!!
25 years old ,married and a computer engineer. I double majored in Computer Science and Biology and plan to become a doctor.

I have lot of leos.

When all my orders come in I will about 15 leos.
I also have a ball python and a rosy boa.

I had a mean stamp collection but my computer went on the break and I had to mail out out my bills.

I planning on using my knowledge of genetics to break into leos genetics and maybe create some interesting morphs.

But for know I will enjoy my reptile friends and try to create some nice leos for the world to enjoy like I do.

My name is Bradley Baquial, I'm 14 years old and live in San Diego, CA. I enjoy skateboarding, snowboarding and riding motorcycles but I really enjoy breeding leopard geckos. I got interested in reptiles when I was 8 years old, but soon got out of them after about a year. Then about 2 1/2 years ago a friend got a fattail gecko and that sparked my obsession again. This time I'm into them for good.
I currently have 11 adult leopard geckos, and 8 hatchlings from this year as well as about half a dozen eggs in the incubator. I also have a fattail gecko, a texas banded gecko and 3 rosy boas consisting of 2 males and 1 female. I like everyone else here really enjoy the forums and talking about the reptiles we love.

If you are interested in some albino leos check out the Pet Supplies Plus out on Airport Highway east of 475 they had some for $24.99. I got one about a month ago and he is healthy as can be.

neon11 May 15, 2003 06:13 AM

I just got my first Leo, a Tang from Petco (next to Kohl's) and he was also $24.99.I know some people really don't like that chain store but I think the one we have does a nice and clean job with there animals.I do like that pet supply plus but I am closer to the Franklin park mall.It is funny how differant they keep there stores from one to the next.
What did you name your new baby?I just figured out a name last night,Tango (my husband really thought of it,he is so good at naming all are babies)!

geeboo May 15, 2003 09:56 AM

Tango is a cool name. It is amazing how differnt their stores are across Toledo. I know the PetCo in the east side of town I can't think of where exactly I only been their once is horrible. That is where I rescued my Tokay gecko from death. They would tease it with a stick daily just to watch it get mad. I was in there when they were doing it that is how I got her. I have not really thought of a good name for him/her yet I wait till they do something that gives them a name usually. Happy Herping

WaxWormFan May 14, 2003 06:20 PM

My other interests include Diesel engines and a large variety of music. I play the Cello and Guitar.

In the past I have been the cofacilitator to a youth group for practitioners of minority religions.

You can find my profile in the Leopard Gecko Forum Family Album link at the top of this page. Not many of us still around in that link but some of us pop in occasionally. I'ts just hard to get any spare time with kids' baseball and judo not to mention the breeding season frenzy.
It's still early to expect you to have eggs yet, but they must have bred by now. Hey, can you email me a picture of your class for my album? I'd love to see you guys in action!

Hi Rick,

Thanks so much for your donation. Everyone here at Speedway is so excited. I took one home for the night a while back to show my 2 year old son, he loved the "lizzurd" as he calls it. Future leo lover I think.

They are doing great. We finished our reptile unit last week, and the kids were so excited with your animals. I have kids coming in everyday to look at them. And yes they are always hiding, but the kids still like to look.

The project is going good. I've had 3 eggs laid, all infertile. But two of the geckoes are definately gravid, and one is probably gravid. I'm hoping they lay before the end of this semester. The summer school biology students are excited and hope to see some babies. I'm looking to buy a 1.1 blizzar, 1.1 albino, and a 1.1 paternless to breed with my genetics class. We've made contact with the elementary schools and I have 3 teachers set up for the fall, my honors students are going to take my animals there and do a mini zoo/demo with the little urchins.

I have several pics and I will email them to you. I will post one on here as soon as find out how. I may have a students show me. Rule #1 Need computer help.... ask a kid.

Good luck with your kids sports. I coach 3 sports, I know how busy it can be.

Thanks Rick, and God Bless
