Need Help Heating....

PristinePythons Jul 08, 2004 01:31 PM

I e-mailed vision and this is what I got:
For snakes, everyone uses heat pads underneath the cage. You can easily light it with flourescents or side mounted incandescent lights on the molded light/vent area on the back/top of the cage. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Vision Products

-What kind of heat pad is best? Who has them for the cheapest price? Would you suggest another way of heating? Timor Pythons, Diamond Pythons, and Black Phase White Lip Pythons will be keeped in the visions. Thanks in advance for your advice. Any further advice is also greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

John

your question,"what is the cheapest" makes me nervous.you have spent good money on a vision cage,i assume your pet snake is hightly valued.heating (or anything electrical) is not the place to cut corners, look for a quality product.have fun.

Just looking for options. Yes I do have a good deal of money in my reps. People keep 20k ball pythons in rubbermaids with heat tape, and that would be a cheap way out.

i'm not sure what's cheap (quality) about rubbermaids and heat tape.i think it's easy to equate high price with high quality,of coarse advertising pounds that into our heads constantly.

Are you saying you already have the Vision cages and you are asking for input on how to heat them?
What is the usual ambient temperature at the coldest time of the year in the room(s) where you will have your cages?
