what should i do with snake eggs?

psychogat Jul 08, 2004 02:42 PM

a few days ago i found some snake eggs under a door in my back yard
my dog lifted the door up and tried to eat the eggs but i got them befor he ate all of them. there were about 12 eggs still left so i took them. i used to have leapard geckos and i hatched their eggs befor so i set up a container like i used to used for the geckos but i have to used gravel instead of perilite cause thats all i had. the gravel is really moist because it was in a fish tank sitting in the back yard so i just put it in the bucket and set the eggs on top. right now the bucket is in an old ice chest full of dead grass from when we cut the grass. the temp in the bucket is around 95 right now. is that the right temp and will they hatch like this? please let me know if this will work and if not what should i do? and how long should the eggs take to hatch? thanks.

I am thinking that they are cooked. I would have them around 80. 90 is python temps and 95, for any length of time and they are dead. Lower the temps and see. 100% humidity. couple months will tell.
