Looking for more info on myco

LordDreyfus Jul 08, 2004 04:59 PM

I've kept a rat colony for quite a while now. From time to time a rat will begin to sneeze with what I suspect is myco. The first time I hear them sneeze i go ahead and feed them to one of my snakes. Until today I didn't know what myco was. Is it possible to transmit it to either myself or my snakes? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Travis

No, you or your herps can't get myco. It is rodent specific and it is in all rats but some isolated lab strains. It is what weakens their respiratory systems. Sneezing isn't always gonna lead to something worse. Rats sneeze if they are under stress.
Heres some basic stuff on it.

Haven't we warned you about tampering with the structure of a chaotic system?
