i was wondering ig its okay to use plexy(sp?) glass?? or is that a bad idea?

plexyglass is fine

It is fine. The only thing you may want to consider is the scratches it will get in the long run.
It is much lighter than glass and a better insulator. You just have to figure out what will best fit your set-up.
