Sexing Paroedura pictus

toxictoad234 Jul 08, 2004 10:44 PM

Can anyone tell me, definitively, how to sex the Paroedura pictus (Madagascar ground gecko)? I've never had any confidence in doing so...

Sexing p.pictus is un-doubtedly one of the easiest gecko species to sex! The males show a set of two very pronounced hemi-penal bulges just before the tail begins. If you have a specimen that is over two months and doesn't show these bulges, you have females. Good luck with them, they are a fantastic species. Leland-D.W.Geckos
