Whats a good size tank for a collared?

gsir8 Jul 08, 2004 10:52 PM

I want to get one that isnt a giant cage for a collared, but I don't want one where he is crowded. Would a 30 gallon work, and should i get a cage that is tall, or a long? What do most of you collared owners use?

I'm thinking of getting a cage with the dimensions 30 x 12 X 18.
Would that be good? I want one that is a little smaller than my bearded dragons cage. This one is 6 inches shorter, and 5 inches less deep.

They are a very active lizards that like to run and jump and need plenty of room to do so. So the bigger the tank the better.

I personally use alot of 40 gallon breeder tanks, I like the fact they are extra wide, alot of floor space.

But a 30 will work nicely. ! Lots of luck with your new venture, Collareds make very nice pets if handled daily and taken care of properly.

Let us know if you decide on one

I decided on a cage that is 30 x 12 x 18. It is a 29 gallon. That should work right? My bearded dragons cage is 36 x 18 x 17 and he has plenty of room, and is much bigger than a collared.
