more pics of my CRB

Ok, so I'm doing a size reference/show here. These were the last pictures I took of Mystyx (note: during this time, I had just started my vet tech/asst job so I had no time for pics then) and she is due to slough (assuming I'm using that term correctly, that means shed correct?) any day now! I have been waiting to take her next pics just post shed. :D She's all foggy in the belly but her eyes are clear so I'm waiting with my camera and baited breath. hehe!

These pics were taken in October of 2003 so we'll just see how much thicker and overall bigger she's gotten! I'm amazed at the difference!

She is fed on 1 f/t medium rat every 10-14 days and she's a little over 2 years old.

Hugs!

are you calling this lovely lady fat? LMAO!!!

Seriously though, she is solid muscle...never had a bad crease in her life. hehe This girl is STRONG. :D

She does love to eat. I enjoy watching her eat her meals. Even the few times I got a bunch of free live rodents, she'd amaze me with her hunting tactics (of which she'll still do with f/t too). Most of the time, I place her food at the opposite end of her pool..she'll slowly swim in, keeping her nose above water and sniffing the whole way, creep up to her food, sniff, the pull out just as quietly...then she'll burst forward with precision aim that is absolutely spell-binding and frightening all at the same time, latch onto the head and all you see is the ripple in the water made by the rodent's tail.
I know...I'm either really twisted...or I have far too much time on my hands to really "observe" my animals. I am an animal behavioral observer by nature. I love sitting there for hours watching their interactions and such. hehe ;D

Anyhoo, I'll have new pics of her as soon as she sheds...I thought she shed already...nope. All fogged over tonight (I took pics tonight). My girl is such a sweetie, she's never had a problem even with looking through her fogged over glasses, and always lets me handle her. :D
My first and one of my die hard favorite snakes in my collection. :D (apparently I saw a piece of shed I missed last time that was INSIDE her fake plant...tricky little turkey. ;D)
Will get the pics that I did tonight loaded up tomorrow. Some interesting stuff I want to draw attention to in those pics. :D

I was just illustrating that she is getting big... which is a good thing for a girl snake.....She looks like she's breeding size....any plans there?

Take care, Chris

hehhehe. I know what you meant silly. I've heard you make that comment before. LOL!
Yes it is good. :D She is about 4' (need to measure her) and as per her last weigh in...I think I remember her at 4.5 lbs? Will have to find that record. ;D

I would LOVE to find a male for her. I want to produce baby CRBS!!
Just like I also hope in the next year or two to have finally trios of argentine rainbows, peruvian rainbows and guyanans.

Hugs!
