RES Versus Painted Turtle

boogernsnot Jul 09, 2004 02:21 AM

I have some questions... my cousin just got a painted turtle, and she asked me about how to take care of it. I figured it was just like my RES that i have.... but i wasnt sure, and i figured that most of the people that post here have more than one type of turtle so i was hoping one of you could help me out... are they just like RES? is there anything different? diet? size? water temp? basking area? anything at all... please let me know! thanks in advance for any replies, they will be greatly appreciated!

I would refer her to Austin's Turtle Page. They have great care sheets for all different kinds of turtles. I think the care of a painted is similar to that of a RES. There are several different kinds of painteds and some get larger than others. If she can post a picture in the turtle forum someone will tell her which kind she has.

Good luck! Nancy

Pretty much the same in terms of care. Austin's turtlepage is a good place to look for info.
