Can someone tell me about this yellow-belly craze thats going on What's the deal?!

Damon Jul 09, 2004 09:31 AM

What's the deal with this yellow-belly craze I see going on in the classifieds?

These snakes look like average normals to me, but I see some being advertised for $10,000!

I have a few normal girls that I think have yellow bellies, but I never purchased them simply because of it.

So what's the deal?

I think some yellow bellies are co-dominant, with the super being a lucy.

I believe what happened is that one line of lucy's came from 2 yellow-bellied parents, so now anything with a yellow belly can possibly be a het lucy, and you know how things go from there...

Actually TRUE yellow belly lines are ALL co-dominant, and they are very likely all going to produce the IVORY Ball , which is not a true Leucistic but rather an Ivory colored off white snake with a yellow stripe down it's back. Those who took the gamble on the yellow bellies at this point are very pleased with the project as it seems they are going to produce more than just the Ivory after seeing the latest yellow belly cross pics. The yellow belly took alot of heat this season as a "risky investment" but now the tables have turned and they will become one of the most talked about UNCOVERED morphs of the year. Now that the pics of the Het Ivory 's are on display (which by they way the pictures were on display from the BEGINING most just didn't know what they were looking at , take a closer look at the pics that the Snakekeeper had of the sibs to the Ivory, one of them is a co-dominant visually different Het Ivory ,which appears to be a Yellow Belly but without looking at the belly one can only speculate based on the facts we have to work with, the other normal is just that an average looking normal ball, and the third animal is the final product the Ivory, which is the SUPER). Sometimes it pays to pay attention to all the details, and do your research!!!!!
