African Dwarf frogs and fish??...

DragonEmpress Jun 20, 2003 11:00 PM

hey!
I have a 5 gal tank that currently is the home of a betta and a small 12cent feeder fish (lol, my sister feeds those guys to her turtles and i stole one...) Anyway, i was wondering if it would be ok to put a aferican dwarf frog in there too...the betta is fine with the fish and there are plants and hiding places in the tank as well. Thanks

Hi,

I have been keeping African Dwarf Frogs for a while and I know that they are notorious as fin nippers. I put mine in with a betta one time and unfortunately the betta didn't makpe it. The frogs should be okay to keep with the feeder fish though. The one thing I would recommend you feed the frogs is either frozen blood worms or frozen brine shrimp. I have found that the frogs only eat the frozen foods, but not the flakes or the freeze dried foods. Anyway it's worth a try, I've only tried mixing the frogs and the betta once before and am not willing to take that risk again.

P.S. All fish love frozen blood worms or brine shrimp.
