Advice needed, Please

I recently acquired an albino leo from a local petstore two weeks ago. The store had just received a shipment of them so i thought i'd pick myself up one, so i picked what seemed to be a quite healthy little baby.. open eyes, alert, active, bright color, and so forth..

It weighed in at 4 grams a few weeks ago and has been living in sweater box with heating tape, 3 hide spots, a bowl for water and a bowl for mealies. The warm side reaches about 90 for it's high, and the cool side around 75ish..

The baby, Zito, ate 10 small mealworms a few days after adjusting to the new cage, and let a few droplings go which were consisting of a little bit of solid formed brown and more of the white urate. this continued for a while and a few more poops came out naturally, some which looked good, others which looked like semi-undigested mealworms. In hopes of correcting this i added two hides on the warm side of the cage one at the 90 degree and another at the mid 80... keeping the other two cool hides in place.. there is a warm humid hide which he seems to use after eating..

the past few days have been sort of weird when it came to his poops.. they seem to be not so formed, and had a little "pool" of liquid, as he lives on papertowel for substrate.. so you could see discoloration around the poops. the poops weren't really formed, but not really liquid either, kind of a mix between the two.. i've been keeping the temps the same in the cage and misting every day, and changing the water everyday as well.. the past few days also, i've noticed a rank smell, which led to my conclusion of the sour smelling poop.

Just before writing this i changed his poop corner paper towel, and he went right after i changed it leaving the white urate and some sort of substance on top of it, what looks like mucus but i'm not sure.. it was kind of clear but like a little glop of rubber cement..not sure if that's mucus but taking a guess

i weighed him in today and he still ways a whoppin 4 grams.. that's where i'm concerned now. i'll be calling the vet on monday to schedule a fecal and see if some sort of physical exam is required, but in the meantime.. has anyone had a similar situation? if you need anymore detail feel free to ask.. i know it's a long post, but any and all help/opinion/etc is appreciated.

here's a picture

Its always a good idea to have things checked out with a vet, but one thing I've noticed is that when I switch from a few weeks of crickets to feeding mealworms their poop gets a bit runnier for a while.

Next time you visit the pet shop see if they might have been feeding crickets.

4 grams is a bit light considering they weigh around that when they hatch, but as long as its eating good and you get it checked out by a vet it sounds like you're doing good!

Fritz, you do bring about a good point.. there was crickets in the cage with the geckos when i bought it. i fed a few crickets to it here at home, but it responded better to the mealworms in it's food dish.. I have 4 other geckos and have never noticed a change in fecal matter with the shift from pet store to home but those geckos all had mealworms in their food dish to begin with...

Thats the best way to figure out whats up
the undigested mealies in the poop could be a warning sign of something not being quite right if it happens often
good luck!
