Babies won't eat veggies

giggles Jul 09, 2004 02:32 PM

I have two baby bearded dragons. I can't get them to eat the parsley I've been putting in their tank. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I should get them to eat it or maybe another vegetable I should try to feed them? They eat crickets like crazy and are growing big and healthy. Thanks for your help!

You should be offering a variety of veggies. There is not a single perfect one for them.
If you only have a couple dragons, I recommend getting a premade salad pack. Riviera, Spring, & field are all good ones. If you get the Spring mix though,, remove all or most of the spinach leaves. You can get those bags of mixes in most grocery stores.

It takes some dragons longer than others to get a taste for the veggies. It's also harder to get them to eat them if you are constantly throwing crickets in their cage. It doesn't take them long to figure out that if they don't eat the veggies right away, you will be there with some crickets before to long.
Young dragons X Crickets = Children X cookies
Would your kid rather eat cookies or a salad???

I hope that helps.

Parsly is not good on a regular basis, it can rob them of vital calcium.
