hi, I have moss as a substrate and I'm not sure about how I should clean it. Do you guys have any idea?

what kind of cham? Unless it is the pygmies it is not recommended to use substrate for a few reasons...one being that is difficult to keep clean; it is not necessary; can harbor bacteria; if cham shoots and constantly eats some it will have health problems, possible compaction.

If it is for pygmies you might find using reptibark, coco-fiber or other with good drainage underneath. If you collected the moss from outdoors there would be enough decomposers in with it so to set up a self-contained eco-system - provided humidity and temps are at proper levels.

I have a Jackson's. So instead of the moss what should I put at the bottom of the cage?

some folks use nothing. I use paper towel nmainly to catch excess water from dripper or humidifier and clean it up as needed. i know moss and stuff looks neat but that's more for us than the chams they really don't care. LOL!

Is he in a screened cage?

I see, I took out all the moss and just put in newspapers. And yes he is in a screened cage. BTW What should I do with my cham while I'm cleaning? I have no place to put him. When I was taking out the moss he became extremely stressed.
