Not a big deal. I buy playsand from Home Depot and pour it straight from the bag into the cage. I don't think it's necessary to wash it.

So Playsand is all right for uromastyx? Becuase I was starting to think that it might be bad for them. Well now that I know its ok I'm going to empty out my other tank and put the rest of the 50lb bag of sand in that tank.

yes its great for uros because of easy cleaning. just get a cat box pan pooper scopper and shift out the poo. and they love to dig in it.

Heck yeah! Reminds me of a big litter box. Just get a small(ish) scooper and you're off. I've got about 50lbs. of unwashed playsand (Home Depot) in my Mali's enclosure and he burrows just fine. Just don't drop the sand in from a great height, as you will produce a huge sand storm!
