is this a motley striped butter?... we have hets for butters and aren't sure if this is a true motley striped butter.

Might be a butter. It is definitely motley, obviously striped motley, but the color is not so easy. I'd vote that it's a butter, but I've seen dark butters and light amels come from these triple hets. You'll have to watch this one grow up, but it appears to be butter from that picture. Kudos!!

Have you looked at it's belly?

If there's a checker pattern on it, then it is not a motley/stripe.
Correct me if I am off my rocker...

I'd have to agree with Don. It looks like a Striped Butter Motley.
