Turtle egg found near pond!

Hey,

We found a turtle egg near our pond where we keep our turtles. What should we do? It's on top of the dirt underneath some plants near the pond. Should we just leave it? Or take it inside or what? How do we even know if it is a turtle egg? And shouldn't there be more than 1? How do we know if there are more? WHat do I DO!?!??!!
