Albino's....

Guy Scavone II Jul 10, 2004 02:07 AM

I'm still having the worst time with this digital camera trying to capture the true color of my animals. The Albino's so far give me the most trouble with getting an accurate color representation. I either need a new camera or a new setup

Below are pics of some of my 03' Albino poss het Snows.

Thanks,

A couple of thos are showing nice coral like colors.Very nice

Two of them most certainly are. The DH Snow that fathered this litter has produced two other "coral" albino offspring when bred to one of my het. albino females. It appears that two of the DH Snow X DH Snow albinos are exhibiting the same amount of coloration. Only time will tell.

Thanks for looking,

My fiance is graphic artist...and she tells me that a blue lens will prevent background colors from effecting the color of the animals...I haven't bought one yet because for some reason I keep buying more snakes....but she's a pretty smart girl...she might be onto something.....

Good luck..oh, and you have great looking animals....I hope they prove out as het for Anery....

Just on a little side note - I am useless at taking photographs indoors. However, when I take the snakes outdoors on a nice day and use no flash, I get pretty good results.

Chris, great pic.... I think the outdoor thing may work better like you're saying, but I'm so paranoid with taking them outside. I know that there is almost 99% chance that NOTHING will happen to them, but I'd be devastated if I got that 1% unlucky chance and someone got sick and died?!

Maybe I need to just stop being such a pansy and go outside with them!!!

Thanks,

Chris, the idea seems to make sense?! Those blue filters if I recall though have to be screwed onto the lensing of an SLR?! I'm using a Canon Digital Elph and there is no way I can screw any kind of attachment on this thing. I think I just need to go buy a new camera

We'll find out next year if they prove true... thanks for the kind words,

But then, I'm in the same boat. I need a camera that takes good indoor and outdoor pics...or I need a new photographer..

While I can take pretty good indoor pics, my outdoor pics (can't shut the flash off as everything is gets blurry - but, I do use it on automatic)turn every thing brownish. Ugh.

Indoor:
Albino

Pink
correct color:

Outdoor:
This was the ONLY pic that showed any pink at all...perhaps shading would have worked better, but their was none to be had then.
Warped color:

After pics like the one above, I never took another snake outside...
