Hello everyone!
The other day my leucistic texas rats began hatching. And I had called John Meltzer that afternoon and chatted about snakes and how things were going. And told him I was annoyed the babies hadn't hatched yet. As I was hoping they would be out well before John came for my wedding. Well, as luck would have it, that night when I came home from work I found a baby pine hatching!!! Then the next morning that baby was out but dragging a yolk sac with it. So I worried and called John but told him it was a baby Leucistic Texas Rat. Well he told me to just keep the baby moist and on clean paper towels and it would be ok. Well baby is doing just fine. But he don't know about the Pines!! So he's getting a big surprise when he shows up at my house in the morning, of June 21, the day I get married to a wonderful woman who also enjoys my snake hobby and shares in my joys and pains in keeping them. So geez, right before my wedding and honeymoon the eggs hatch...sheesh! Well, if all goes well, there should be 11 babies total. One egg went bad on me. I'm thinking I'll be keeping one pair. John will for sure be taking home a pair, plus some pink eyed leucistic texas rats which I was NOT expecting! As well as the normal dark blue eyed ones. And then my buddy Gregg will also be getting a pair. I think I'll keep the other five for the Midwest Symposium in Nebraska this October. Five Pines that is. As for pictures, well, I took some but who knows when I'll get them developed! Sure is a lot going on. And now it's time for me to go get some sleep and get up and make this wedding happen! So just sharing my little tale for everyone. Take care. See you in a bit over a week!
