Need Some Help....

OneTwoManyHerps Jul 10, 2004 03:01 PM

I know allot about leos but am having a hard time telling a super hypo from a normal hypo....maybe its just that i've never seen many pics of the two compared but what makes a super hypo different than just a hypo? Also if you have some time take a look at my pics in the gallery and let me know if I labeled any of my leos wrong I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi. Hypo refers to the lack of melinin in the skin. Super Hypo loosely is inperpretated by 10 or less spots on the body.

Wait.. I thought that Hypo was 10 or fewer spots on the body, and that Super Hypo is either 5 or less or no spots on the body. That's how it was explained to me. (I think I was told 5 or less for Super Hypo??)

P.S. Either way, that photo is Definitely a Super Hypo - and a carrottail! Quite a beauty

I was told by a few breeders that if it has less than ten significant spots on its back and legs its a hypo and its only a super hypo if it has zero spots on its back and legs. If there are no spots on the head its back, legs or head its a baldy.
