2 white things just appeared in my Leopard geckos tank, Eggs? Pic

Dillon Jul 10, 2004 04:20 PM

I have a subadult female Leopard gecko that, it seems just laid eggs. Problem is she's never been with a male and I bought her as a juvenile so I know that for sure. I saw the (eggs?) developing inside her but i thought it was just her organs when I looked beneath her. Are the eggs infertile? or did one of those freak occurances in the herp world just take place? I'm a bit confused and anyone with info. on the subject is welcome to comment.

Thanks in advance,
Dillon

You are right those are eggs. Sometimes females lay eggs even when they haven't been with a male. It's just nature. Since she has never been with a male the eggs are definately infertile. You can just throw them away. Make sure you give your girl some extra calcium and vitamin supplements because even infertile eggs takes a lot out of them!
