Siblings from a late May Sunglow litter......

Amanda_Burke Jul 10, 2004 05:56 PM

I was looking through some of our pictures and figured I'd post these, since they are two of my favorites!

This is one of our female sunglow keepers that I adore! We lovingly call her a lipstick sunglow because it looks like somebody painted her with red lipstick!

This is a Hypo het for Albino female. She's sold, but she's still with us, so I'm enjoying her while we have her! lol I love her deep red saddles.

Thanks for looking!

Looks like it's been a great year for you guys.

When are you going to get yourself some of these friendly little buggers?

Noone's ever died due strictly from the bite of a heloderm. There are a couple somewhat documented cases from back in the wild west days, but those cases were debunked years ago. It was the treatment (generally involving copious quantities of alcohol) that was shown to cause of death.

They're actually quite placid little critters, though the one in the pic is a bit more frisky than most. Once you start working with them & get them past the baby stage, you'll get absolutely hooked. Gilas have got amazing personalities & are the most incredible herps I've ever seen & I've played with or kept a couple hundred different species of herps & no, I'm not that old. By the way, Ball pythons are definately at the bottom of the list of fun herps. For some reason, I just find them extremely boring. I do like the pieds, though they're still a ball python.

Yes, we have been very lucky this year ... we've had alot of nice litters. Thanks for the compliments!

I would love to have a Gila...I just have a really hard time convincing my dad that we should have them! lol He's afraid I'll get bit, so he doesn't want anything venomous. But, they seem so great, and I love the way they look! In the meantime, I guess I'll just have to enjoy your pictures and be jealous!
