newly received gecko

i just got a crested gecko...
very nice male i think it is a flame one i cant really tell its a redish ornge color

anyways what is the adult length of these guys? i have seen varieing lengths on diff care sheets

also what about the lifespan?

and is it ok to handle the guy?....he is soo cool...i have chamemeons and they are basically hands off.. this dude is so fun to carry around the house and stuff. is that a bad thing?

excessive handling should be avoided, from time to time is ok, and always be very gentle with them. keep an eye on them at all times, they like to jump, and once away from you, they can get away pretty quickly.

The average size of an adult crested gecko from snout to the end of the tail is 8 inches, the tail makes up 50% of this length on average, from snout to vent most cresteds average 4-4.7 inches.

a GREAT book to pick up is "Rhacodactylus The Complete Guide to their Selection and Care" it was written by Philippe de Vosjoli, Frank Fast, and Allen Repashy. It is an excellent book and it is packed with useful information.
