Did anyone else see that gorgeous western coachwhip

Kim posted a stunningly beautiful "pink phase" western coachwhip on the other forum and thought it would be worthy for the Dry folks to take a look at (hey, they are certainly racer/indigo-like creatures). I for one found this snake to be absolutely drop dead gorgeous (even if it isn't an indigo

It looks like it's just had a BIG meal....

That is a pretty coachwhip. I wonder if the reddish coloration is just bloodstains from the people that have tried to catch it...

WOW!!! Beautiful animal! THANKS! I too have a fondness for those pink/red beauties. Chased a red one in west texas (in gray band country) one day and that one cost me a complete tear of my quadricep muscle (exteremely painful) which put me out of commission for a looong time. Took me almost a year before I could walk again!!!! That is why I can relate to the comments (from oldherper) about the "blood stains" And yes, that one got away. . . .

It's good to know there are others out there who like the "nasty"cophis
I"ve always had a thing for them, especially those pink ones. AWESOME!

Fun critters...I chased one through a cactus field near Devil's Bend TX. The cactus won....

Did get lucky and found a Red for sale. Was a great mouser and rather tame.I had it for quite a while till unfortunately it developed a tumor in it's head and died.
