Scar question

CaptainHook2 Jul 10, 2004 10:57 PM

I'm sticking to this forumn cuz tharz people here I trust.

I just picked up 2 ball pythons from a guy who's girlfriend left him and left her snakes. They both have been scarred up pretty bad from live food. Is there something I can put on their skin to help them shed it out or will the scars be there forever?

It really depends and how bad and deep the scars are. If they are relatively superficial scars then after several sheddings they should start fading. If they are deep and into the actual muscle of the snake then they are probably there for good. I would suggest putting neosporin on it for a couple of weeks and see if it helps a little. Good luck. There is also another product that I used to help with sheds and scarring. Its a snake oil, and I dont remember who puts it out, but I have seen it in a few of the reptile supply places. the neosporin will probably work the best to heal up anything, but this stuff really seemed to help mines skin out.
