How can i tell the difference?

das408851 Jul 10, 2004 11:00 PM

How can i tell the difference between fecal matter build up and uric acid stones or a tumor?I recently posted a question about my 6 month old blood who has two bumps on her and is not eating i got the advice to soak her in warm water. That seemed to help a little the bumps softed up a little and maybe went down a little but i can't really tell,i could really use some more advice on the subject because i am really worried about her ,and i want to be sure what it is before i overreact and take her to the vet!!!Thank you!

Try soaking the snake again but this time try to take before and after pics. It won't be overreating if you catch somthing wrong early. In my opinion you are already a week behind. Take it to a good vet if for no other reason to ease you mind but possibly to save your animal

Those bumps are still there after 6 months,if so I would take him to the vet.My baby sarawak has a weird bump right where her belly scales meet the side scales and the vet said it could be a cyst, or something was stuck there and skin grew around it.To go in and take xrays and stick a needle in it is going to cost some bucks, so she said to just watch it and make sure its not growing all huge.Been ok so far.Wouldn't hurt to get him checked out just incase.

If it's just waste, you should be able to move it with gentle pressure. If that's the case, you can slowly work the masses out or if you feel uncomfortable doing so, have the vet do it. One of my bloods had a large buildup of urates before I moved her to her bigger cage and I had to do this.
Hope this helps! Of course, it never hurts to be on the safe side and make a trip to the vet anyway.
