ant spray?

violentxuprising Jul 11, 2004 11:35 AM

hi, tonight i came home and discovered that my mom has sprayed ant spray on the floor of the basement where i keep my meal/wax worm. i dont know how long ago she sprayed the room, but i am sure she sprayed the floor, and i keep my worms high up off the floor. so i was wondering if anyone know if the worms would still be good to feed after being exposed to just the fume, i know that mealworms absorb moisture through their skin, so i am kinda worried, and i wanted to know if anyone has any knowledge on this weird problem. thanks.

If it were my mealies, i'd throw them to the garbage. I'm not sure yout mealies are contaminated but i wont risk it. The problem ith most ant spray is that it stick to the insect so they carry it in the colony, it dont kill them right away. So maybe your mealies have some sticking on them and they can pass it to your leo. I'm definetly not an expert but that's what i would do.
