eggs found in the water

doret Jul 11, 2004 02:45 PM

It's the fifth time that my waterdragon lay eggs this year.
Every four or five weeks she lays 12 eggs.
Two days ago she only layed 6 eggs and after that she eat 2 fuzzie's.
First I thought that the breeding season had finally end because she had only 6 eggs.
She is quit skinny and although I feed her a few times a day, all kinds of insects (with lots of calcium) and a few fuzzie's a day, I think all this egg laying will be too much for her if it's going on like this.
I was a bit suprised that she was not very hungry the next day and this morning. The other times she eat a lot.

This afternoon I found two brownish eggs in the water and I'm sure she dropped them today. Yesterday I already put back her egg laying box because I didn't trust her behaviour but she didn't used it anymore.

So, does anyone know why she layed the 2 eggs two days after and in the water?
Is this a very bad sign or has the breeding season finally come to an end??

When dragons lay unfertilized eggs they often drop them anywhere, they only care about the welfare of good eggs. My dragon laid a few off the edge of her 4 foot high basking ledge.

Thanks for the answer
I wouldn't expect that she had infertile eggs with two male around her
