Getting New BD

imortalgod Jul 11, 2004 03:09 PM

I am getting my first BD and was wondering what the best size cage for one BD. And where I could find a good breeder near the area code 92612 is and how much money it would be.

THANX

Sounds like you still have a lot of research to do. These lizards need a lot of special care and it takes more preperation than just "what size cage do I need" and "where do I buy one."

I recommend checking out the caresheets at www.beautifuldragons.com/ and www.reptilerooms.com/ for a start. Those will answer your question on cage size, as any caresheet would.

A bearded dragon can cost anywhere from $35 to $600, depending on where and who you buy from, color morph, and bloodlines.

Looks like you are in Southern California. What I would do is decide how much you want to spend, do a tremendous amount of research and get a tank setup then I would check out the Classifieds here on Kingsnake. Each ad has a location associated with it, so just look there for Southern California. I also live in Southern California but I am not the only breeder here. I would also check out everybodies website and see if they have a number posted to contact them if you were to buy from them. Lastly I would try to find some reveiws or some feedback on whoever you have interested in buying from. If you don't want to pick up the animal you can also just order online, but personally I love it when I can go pick out an animal.
