Coloration question...

funnyman527 Jul 11, 2004 03:45 PM

OK, my BD is a normal morph to my knowledge (actually he's 11.5 inches at 12 weeks, so i thin khe might be a german giant), but he's startin to show hints of orange around he's earholes and especially now around the spikes that run length-wise along his body, is this usuall or do u think as time goe's by he'll get more and more orange???

thx

you just never know.... this is carrick, a german giant X gold dragon, she surprised us quite a bit when she turned out like she did,
its not typical but it can happen. with high colored parents you are more likely to have high colored babies, and those babies can get more vibrant with age or could also dull or change somewhat. some of the more "normal" babies can color up, more often they will stay somewhat the same. some of the greatest joys of raising baby dragons i have found is watching how they change as they grow, its always so amazing. I loved carrick for her color as a baby, loved her dark greys and blacks, so called "normal" dragons are amoung my favorites. perhaps your baby will gain some color with age and perhaps not, either way, a little cutie for ceritan
