How Long to Breed Again

NateDiggity Jul 11, 2004 05:49 PM

How long do you need to wait. I have a female who stopped laying eggs 3 monthe ago and is back to a very healthy weight. May I breed her again?

Thanks,

Nate

As long as she is up to full weight, go ahead and breed her. You may want to slowly increase the photoperiod to help get her in the mood. I like to do it that way, but I know others don't bother.

Good question. I just took my breeders off heat for the season to give em time off (about a month ago). I'll probably get them started late august/early september. In the short few weeks, they've all gained about 10 grams. Its weird, typically breeders loose weight throughout the season, but mine all gained, and continue to gain afterwards--I guess I was doing something right!
