question on newly aquired brooksi...

hassanblacktail Jul 11, 2004 06:26 PM

Hey people new to the king forum, anyway I just got a new "chocolate"brooksi this past Friday. He was pretty calm during the day, but when I got him home and put him on the floor to show the wife, I guess he got spooked or something and decided to take flight. When I approached him he vibrated his tail. It surprised me, but I still used a hook-to-hand technique and put him in his enclosure. I also had a large male cribo crawling previously in that area(I'm thinking the scent spooked him??). Any answers would be appreciated I haven't owned a king in almost 15yrs.

any part of the scenario could have spooked him- a wide open area, two large individuals, or the cribo scent. They will do that rattle thing and maybe musk you a little bit when young. Dollars to doughnuts it will be the most mellow animal in your collection in as an adult- except at feeding time.
-tradition here requires you to post a pic of your king ASAP.
