A tank suitable for my guys???? Please answer fast!!!!

Ok, I have a baby male river cooter and a full grown Mississippi Map turtle and they are the best of friends. They live together right now. Also, I might put my Stinkpot in with them because he's not too agressive. Maybe not, though. I'm also getting an Eastern and a Southern painted turtle. And possibly a RES but maybe not. What size tank would hold them all? 90 gallon? 125? 150? 200? I want room in there just in case I decide to add another to my collection. Thanks!!!

You would likely need at least a 200 gallon tank for all of these turtles. Your male cooter could easily reach eight inches. If you get a slider, it could reach 8-12 inches depending on gender, and the painteds could reach 6-10 inches depending on gender. That's a lot of turtle for a tank. Better to go with an indoor or outdoor pond if you intend to get this many turtles.

Plus, your stinkpot might prefer more shallow water than the other aquatics.

Agreed. You can set up an indoor pond fairly inexpensively and also make it a nice feature in a room. Would be happy to give ideas and dimensions if you decide to do that in lieu of a 200 gallon tank.

Also leave the stinkpot out of the mix. I had one that started out very nice and agreeable and then began chomping on all the other turtles. They do prefer shallow water as well. Best to leave him in his own specialized set up.

OK, can he live his whole life with a 3 Striped mud?
