growth rate of young western hognoses

reptilenick Jul 11, 2004 06:55 PM

I was wondering what the growth rate for baby hognose snakes is. Also my young hognose is a finicky feeder and some times wont eat for quite a while how much do you thing this will affect his growth ( he seems to be growing well but I would like a second opinion).

Your snake's growth rate will be determined by how much it eats--and though being picky and skipping meals will slow its growth down, unless it is severely malnourished it should reach its normal adult size, if a bit slower than a baby that eats 3 pinkies a week.
