partial paralysis?

sjsharksfan Jul 11, 2004 09:55 PM

My male Gaint Tremper Albino is having issues. he has stopped putting any weight on his front legs, and kind of squirms his way around now. its almost like he has partial paralysis in forntal area. he just started to display these symptoms. he was eating well, crickets, mealies and wax worms. he was drinking water also. i keep him in a sterilite container with belly heat on one end around 88-90, with the other side in the around 80. he has a hide box, and a shed box. i keep two bowls in his incloser, one with mealies and Calcium, the other with water. he hasn't been dropped, squished, stepped on or any thing like that. any one have any ideas on what could be wrong with him? i plan on taking him into the vet tomarrow, but was hoping someone could inlighten me on what the problem could be.

I know that impaction can cause paralysis in hind legs. Perhaps the front also???

Sounds like a trip to the vet for sure... I personally have not heard of impaction causing front paralysis. I would guess that he infured himself somehow (diving at a cricket, jumping off a hide box.. ect).

When he "squirms around" is one side working and the other not? Or, is he squirming in a circle? I once had a pictus gecko who behaved this way, and the vet and I concluded she'd had a stroke. One front leg was fairly useless for about 3 months and then she made a full recovery. During her recovery, I hand fed her crickets and baby food.
