carrot tail geckos

gohome Jul 11, 2004 10:18 PM

I was recently feeding my gecko and noticed that se had some orange around the base or her tail. The orange wasnt on the very base but it was towards that end. The base of her tail is black and white but i was wondering if perhaps that orange meant anything or if all leos are like that. (Sorry i dont have a picture. I dont have a digital camera and my parents are afraid to step any farther into the age of technology)

How old is the gecko? If it is a baby still and there aren't any spots around the tail there is a possibility. Are the parents carrot tail, do they have any significant amount of orange on their tails? If your gecko is older and have all its spots (especially in that area) Then chances are it will have nice coloring around its tail but it won't be a true carrot tail. If you can try to get up a pic, it would be easier to tell. I know how the camera thing feels! I just got one after a long time of pleeding and begging, and its sooo much easier. I hope it turns out a carrot tail. They are so pretty. Keep us updates on how it looks though.
Hope this helps!
