sexing issue

durtybyrd1 Jul 11, 2004 11:06 PM

hey fellas,my new baby green is doing great! took her first meal, leave me little messes in the water.but i had the issue with the tissue hanging out of the vent.it hasnt reappeared.but we came to the conclusion it could be a hemipene.well,i was looking at the spurs and they would indicate a female.no appendage, recessed and dark colored.the snake is about 33" long.could it be too small to tell or does it sound like ive gotta female?

I understand where that would be confusing...I was told my snake was male when it was shipped to me but the guy would not return my calls when the snake wouldnt eat and all other indications told me it was female. 33 inches is small so you may need to use magnification to see the spur structure. The males will be hooked while the famales are cone shapped. Good luck
