STUPID LEO

y0m0m666 Jul 12, 2004 08:08 AM

The other day I stuck my hand into the cage to touch my leo and it bit me, so my dad suggested to just touch it 2 a day. But everytime I try to touch it, it bites me. I want a tame leo but I don't know how to make him tame because he keeps biting me. Please tell me what to do to make them tame.

is it a baby or adult? Babies tend to bite more and be more afraid. Also, take it to the vet to rule out any health problems. If it's in pain or uncomfortable, it will bite when you try to touch it. Other than that, just keep doing what you're doing. Try hand feeding it, and rather than just swooping in and grabbing it, lay your hand in the cage for a while, stay very still, and use your patience!!! Do this several times a day, and your gecko will see that you are not there to hurt it. Remember to be quiet and move slow, and you should start to see improvement. just keep at it.

Where are you? I'm lucky to have 2 great herp vets sorta close (30-45 min drive). There are a lot of ways to find good vets in your area. you could try asking for referrals here, or I know there are some websites where you can plug in your zip code, and it will tell you some near you. Don't remeber any of them off the top of my head, though. Might be one on this site. Good luck
