Egg emergency

James Brumley Jul 12, 2004 09:11 AM

Several of my eggs are deflating at day 45 or so. No baby hatches. What is wrong and what can I do. I put moist towels over them this morning but I do not think that low humidity is a problem. The incubation temp is about 85.5 eith a fluctuation of /- 1.5 degrees, is this ok? Please help me I have 40 more eggs and I can't bear to lose them all, or any more for that matter.

Have you checked with a penlight and are you positive they are fertile?

I can't think of any other reason, they would colapse if the humidity is ok.

I have had this happen before, and I assumed it was because something was wrong with the egg. Or maybe the babies are having trouble hatching. What is your humidity? 80% or more? I would suggest e-mailing Jodi Aherns from groundgeckofreak.com....he's a large scale breeder who knows about these things. Just go to www.groundgeckofreak.com and find the e-mail link.
