very green stool, please help

gothra Jul 12, 2004 10:31 AM

I posted a few days ago regarding one of my gecko, Bambi, who is not eating; we had her fecal checked by the vet last week, and she has no parasites. Although she is not eating much at all (1 or 2 food item per month), she is drinking from her water dish everyday. Therefore, her stool is quite watery.

Tonight, she 'discharged' a very dark green watery stool, almost the color of a leaf. Can someone pleaase help? Does she have some sort of illness?

I have a bottle of Repto-boost that the vet gave me a couple of months ago to soak her in when she is not eating; haven't been using that recently, but after see her green poo, I just put some in her water dish, will that help?

my vet told me that is bile, very common if she is not eating. Is she losing weight? Maybe you should try some baby food, or something. She's got to eat more than that!

I am going to take her to the vet today; I hope this is not something fatal. By the way, I've actually told the vet that her stool has a greenish tint to it before, but he didn't say anything; but last night's stool sample is so green that had me very worried.

Thanks for your reply.

ya, my baby was pooping light and runny, with patches of green algae looking stuff in it. Let me know what your vet says. You can ask him for some a/d which is like pure calories to hand feed him if he's losing weight.
