Albino tadpoles?!

shopunke Jul 12, 2004 12:13 PM

Out of the hundreds of tadpoles I am currently raising, I have noticed one in particular that has absolutely -no- colour pigment. Is it possible that he is an alibno? He's slightly smaller than the others, but boy is he strong. He's eating regularly, swimming, and thriving. No one dares to pick on this guy.

So anyway, to my point. I don't believe he's sick. So, is he albino? I'm not 100% positive as to what specie of frog these tadpoles are, but odds are they are Cuban Tree Frogs.

Any info would be appreciated!

Sounds like an albino! The pic isnt working for me though>? if you can fix it somebody should be able to tell you for sure what it is. but it is most likely an albino, its not uncomon to come across an albino green tree frog, so im sure a cuban wouldnt be impossible!

Wow, AWESOME! I'm going to have to get him his own tank and keep him as my own little buddy. ^_^ My mother already named him "Odd", since he's just so different from the rest. Here is another picture. May I ask you a question, also? If I were to keep him until he's a little Froglette... -how would I get him food small enough?- I'd love to have a frog that I've raised since he was an egg...

ok, well you can get pinhead crix at most petstores, but if he is really small ( I cant see the new pic either, so I'm still unsure of the species) you can order a fruit fly culture on-line. and I think Odd is a really cute name! best of luck with the little guy.
