Which is a better stable food source for a leopard gecko?

I would say crickets due to having more 'meat' and less chitin than mealworms.

My leos get all mealies... I rarely give them anything different since I lost my Superworm colony... My breeding females.. GAIN weight during laying season instead of lose it so you can take that for what its worth. They can eat more mealies than crickets and the only soft part of a cricket really is the abdomen.. the rest is hard anyway.. even the legs so I'm not sure why everyone is worried about the Chitin on a mealie which is just a long tube... Never had a problem with them myself... and all my geckos love them even my hatchlings.

Thnkas! Also, I think mealies are easier to breed myself, as oppsed to parents who can't stand the sound of crickets lol, and so sometimes its hard to feed them nearly every day :/

Yeah I don't get the fear of Mealworms either. I figure throw in some waxworms or Zoo Med Can o Pillars occasionally and you have a nice laxative effect to move that stuff out if it worries you.

From what I uderstand Superwoms have softer outershells than mealies so they're probably even better.
