carpenter ants...

My 9 month old panther ate ~4 carpenter ants. The big black ones, is he going to be allright?

Assuming he crushed them well before swallowing probably OK. I'm surprised he ate them, as ants don't usually taste good to anything other than anteaters, some birds, and hedgehogs. They are very bitter. I wouldn't let him eat lots of them.

I agree, try to make sure he doesnt eat them because if the ant isnt crushed on contact it can and will more than likely bite your chameleon (most likely on the tongue) and they dont let go even if they are dead. We had a dog who tried to eat one and was surprised and started shrieking when the ant latched onto his tongue. Wasnt fun trying to get it off
