Bark eaten by baby??

tegu2002 Jul 12, 2004 04:02 PM

Hi, I got my new baby anery 15 days ago and he has eaten aound 4 or 5 times during those 2 weeks. Usually I would be happy that he is eating but I have noticed that he has not done a single proper poo once. He has only had 2 watery ones. He has a lump aound half way down his body that is hard and moves a little bit. I thought that maybe he had eaten a piece of bark. If so what should I do to help him pass it on. Should I a) keep feeding to see if it comes through or b) not feed him and see if he can pass it on. If anyone has any other ideas I would be very grateful.

Soak him in luke warm water for a little bit. That should do the trick.....Jared

I don't mean to scare you but you should probably take him to the vet ASAP. I lost my first corn about two months ago becuase he swallowed repti-bark before i bought him. I believed the shop that the dark lump was his last meal, how true that statement was.

hope your little one fares better than mien did.

Good luck

I'm still not sure that it is bark but I have soaked him in luke warm water and the lump went down a bit because he did a poo. I dopn't have any vets near me that have the expertise in reptiles and the only one that does probably doesn't even know what to do. Should I soak him in luk warm water again and should I still feed him??
