Hi, i have a single female basilisk that was hatched march 27th 2003 and lived her whole life alone... but recently she just laid eggs.. how and why did that happen? and how often does this happen a year?

All female reptiles lay eggs, without being mated. They are just unfertile. All females are different, I seem to remember mine laying them every 4-5 months, but yours could lay them more or less.

Basilisk are capable of breeding parthenogenetically, that is, the female can lay viable eggs that have not been fertilized, these eggs hatch into clones of the mother. I don't breed basilisk, so I can't say how common it is, but if I was you and the eggs looked firm and white, I would incubate them.
